Lansing Delays Shoveling Ordinance Due To Frigid Temps

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The City of Lansing has delayed their sidewalk shoveling ordinance due to the frigid temperatures.

The ordinance has been delayed until 8a.m. on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to slowly rise through the end of the week, which should allow residents to resume clearing walkways.

Residents are also asked to assist local fire departments by clearing snow away from fire hydrants to help in their area in the event of an emergency.

People are urged to limit their time outdoors due to the risk of getting frost bite.

The city will continue clearing snow from roadways as needed.
