Winter Weather Advisory: 4-8 Inches Of Snow Expected

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Snow is expected to begin in the area just after midnight Friday. Mid-Michigan will receive about 4 - 8 inches. The heaviest snow will fall between 9a.m. and 6p.m. Saturday, ending around midnight.

In Lansing, the expected snow total is 5-7 inches. St. Johns/Alma can expect around 7-8 inches. Jackson is expected to get around 4-5 inches.

Hillsdale will get a mix of snow and rain, first with about 2 inches of snow, then rain and then back to snow again.

The National Weather Service is concerned for flat roofs. The snow is expected to be heavy and wet and buildings with flat roofs may not be able to handle the weight.
