EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - East Lansing police are continuing their search for the person who pulled the trigger that killed Michigan State student Dominique Nolff, 20.

The shooting happened around 8:45p.m. Friday, near Michigan State University's campus at Cedar Village Apartments.

Police say they don't consider the shooting random. They say the suspect and Nolff likely had some type of relationship.

According to police, the sophomore was shot multiple times and died in the hospital on Saturday. Nolff's roommate was also shot, but has since been released from the hospital.

After the shooting happened, MSU students were alerted until two hours later. "We have to make sure that we get the correct information before we put out any information to the public," said Sgt. Florence McGlothian-Taylor with MSU.

The suspect's description has since been left vague, saying he's of average height and in his 20s.

Police are following-up on leads, but haven't made an arrests. If you have any information on the shooting, please call the East Lansing Police Department at (517) 319-6884.
