Updated:

UPDATE: Young is expected back in court in April. According to our media partners at the Jackson Citizen Patriot, a medical examiner testified that 45 percent of the infant's body had third degree burns when he died.

Police say Young didn't call for help until three days after the baby was burned.

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - A 30-year-old father is scheduled to have his preliminary exam Friday. Michael Young is charged with the death of his infant son.

In January, police say Young placed his son in bath water that was too hot for his four-month-old. The water burned the little boy, which led to his death.

Young is charged with felony murder and first degree child abuse.
