Lansing Gets New Multi-Day 'Fish Rodeo' Festival

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Lansing is getting ready for a new multi-day festival this year.

Organizers say the "Grand American Fish Rodeo" is planned for June 12-14 along the Grand River at Adado Riverfront Park.

Boat parades, live music, competitions and relay races are among the events planned.

Organizers say the Fish Rodeo aims to build off a feeling in Michigan of gratitude for rivers, lakes and aquatic life as well a tradition of creativity and self-expression.

The Fish Rodeo is produced by the Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art, which produces Lansing jazz and blues events.
