I-96 Shooter Raulie Casteel Sentenced In Oakland Court

Posted: Updated:

OAKLAND, Mich. (WLNS) - The accused I-96 shooter Raulie Casteel has been sentenced to between 6 and 10-years in prison.

An Oakland County judge handed-down the sentence Tuesday connected to the first of two-related cases.

This comes after the 44-year-old from nearby Wixom pleaded no contest, but mentally ill to opening fire on motorists in a series of attacks. He told a jury that he did because he felt fear and anxiety.

The nearly two dozen shootings terrified the region in the fall of 2012. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt.
