EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The public and community review team met Wednesday to discuss the Lansing Board of Water and Light's response to the ice storm in December 2013.
Resident Matthew Oney says the City of East Lansing told him they had trouble figuring out where outages were. Team member Darnell Earley says he had the same problem.
"I've been able to ascertain that they were as much in the dark on these issues as the average citizen," said Earley.
"A statement was made that every foreign crew must have a Board of Water and Light member with them. I feel that's a very poor allocation of resources," said a former utility worker at the meeting.
Some attendees simply voiced the conern of why they were in the dark for so long, saying there were "no bangs" and asking if it "was a transformer, a box, [there wasn't] a fire."
Another meeting will be held on Thursday at Pattengill Middle School in Lansing and again on Friday at Delta Township at the Township Hall.
