Woman Pleads Guilty After Dead Dogs Found In Dumpster

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WLNS) - A Brookfield Township woman whose three dogs were found dead inside a dumpster behind a shoe store pleaded guilty Thursday to a charge of animal abandonment and cruelty.

Diane Willis, 82, was sentenced to two years of probation. She will also have to pay fines and restitution to Michigan State University to cover the cost of the necropsy that was preformed on the animals.

Willis will not be allowed to own any animals during her probation and must give up any animals she has right now. The woman had over 25 other animals living in the home at the time animal control checked.

Another man pleaded guilty in January for pleaded guilty for improper burial of an animal. He's expected to be sentenced in April.
