EAST LANSING, MICH. (WLNS) -

Police are releasing new video of a possible suspect tonight in the shooting death of an MSU student one week ago tonight.

It shows a suspect in the fatal shooting that happened on January 31st at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Cedar Street in East Lansing.

Police say the suspect is an African American man between 20 and 25 years old. He is around 6 foot 1 to 6 foot 3 feet tall at approximately 170 pounds, with a slim build.

East Lansing Police Department Lieutenant Scott Wriggelsworth says the new information released could be just what they need to find the suspect and charge him.

"The stills and the video is one of the bigger pieces of evidence we have in this case and I'm hoping that alone will break this case wide open and we can figure who this guy is," said Lt. Wriggelsworth.

Police also add that the suspect may have been struck in the face a few times during the shooting. So he may have some injuries as well.

If you have any information about the shooting, call ELPD Detective Dan Brown at (517) 319-6811.
