'Reinventing Holt Schools' Plan Moves Forward

Posted: Updated:

HOLT, Mich. (WLNS)- Holt community members voiced their opinions Monday night at the Holt School Board's meeting on the "Reinventing Holt Schools" plan.

A plan that was approved during last month's board meeting, moving Holt seniors across the street to the smaller, north campus.

During the meeting parents and students on both sides of the argument voiced their opinions during public comment. The vocal majority that opposes the plan says if this board doesn't listen to their thoughts they'll make sure the next one does.

"The plan now is to recall. Recall the board, and get potential board members in there that will listen to the community, listen to their concerns," said Ginnie Torok, Holt Parent.

The school board did not take up any motions to change the plan, and now the move will begin with the class that becomes seniors in the fall.
