Fundraiser Dinner To Help Fill Up Food Bank

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - From now until mid-May you have an opportunity to help those in need in your community.

By using an empty plate you can help fill up the Greater Lansing Food Bank.

At a special breakfast this morning the food bank kicked off their 2014 Empty Plate event.

They're looking for sponsors to help contribute to the fundraiser May 14 and hope others will help by attending.

It's a casual dinner with food and drinks provided by local restaurants and caterers.

Local elementary students provide hand painted empty plates for the guests to keep in addition to a live and silent auction.

"It is a very wonderful event. We bring so many people into the event. It is great to see the community come and support our organization," said Linda Headley, Chair, Greater Lansing Food Bank.

McLaren Health Systems is the major sponsor of this year's Empty Plate fundraiser.

All proceeds go towards the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
