Van Atta Rd. Bridge Gets Major Renovations

Posted: Updated:

MERIDIAN TWP., Mich. (WLNS) - A bridge in Meridian Township will soon undergo some major renovations. The project to replace the Van Atta Road bridge starts at 9a.m. Wednesday.

The current 60 foot bridge that was built in 1935 will be replaced by a new bridge that is longer and has an added sidewalk.

No traffic will be able to cross, so residents living north of the bridge will use Grand River Avenue to get to their homes and Jolly road will be the access point from the south.

Construction is expected to run until June.
