VOA Holds 'Homeless No More' Fundraiser

Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The Volunteers of America Michigan is having a huge fundraiser called Homeless No More Wednesday to help fund their services.

This year, one of the VOA's big projects is the construction of a Sparrow Health Clinic being built right next to the VOA's New Hope Day Center on Larch Street. Organizers say it will provide care for those who have never had access to a family doctor before.

"We have a bunch of folks who are mentally and physically disabled in our population that just linger there, so by adding Sparrow to the team, boy we really got the opportunity to solve a lot of problems we just couldn't solve before," said Patrick Patterson, with the VOA of Michigan.

The Homeless No More Fundraiser runs until 7:30p.m. at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. The Sparrow Clinic is set to open in just a few weeks.
