JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - The woman accused of falling asleep on a couch after drinking and suffocating her 27-day-old daughter has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Amanda Redman, 31, faces up to 15 years in prison for the felony charge. She will be sentenced in a Jackson court in mid-April.

The court's assistant prosecutor says the state will most likely call for the minimum sentence. Under those guidelines, Redman could face between five and 17-months behind bars.
