Gas Line Explosion Sends 2 To Hospital

(WLNS) - Two people are in the hospital after an underground gas line exploded overnight and destroyed two homes.

It happened around 1 a.m. in Adair County, Kentucky.

The explosion left a 60-foot crater. Emergency management officials say one person was hospitalized with burns. No status has been provided ont he second person. A third home was damaged by the fire, along with at least four vehicles. 

Within a few miles of the explosion, 20 homes were evacuated.

The pipeline is owned by Columbia Gulf Transmission.
