Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A stolen car chase in Lansing ends when the driver crashes into a snowbank on the city's eastside.

Sgt. Leith Curtis, with the Lansing Police Department, said it started Friday around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Shiawassee Street and Larch Street. Officers tried to stop the driver of the stolen Acura, but he took off northbound on Larch Street.

A high speed chase began, but officers lost track of the car. However, police said it didn't take long before they found the stolen car crashed into a snowbank near Prospect Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Police officers arrested two people on scene. The other two ran away, but a Canine Unit tracked them hiding nearby.

Police took two 18-year-old men and one 17-year-old boy into custody. The other suspect is a 16-year-old girl who was released to her parents. The three men remain at the Lansing jail where they await formal charges, which include fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting and obstructing arrest.
