Communities Push For More Representation At BWL

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- The number of local communities asking for more representation on the Lansing Board of Water and Light's Board of Commissioners is going up.

Meridian township trustee Milton Scales is proposing a resolution to add additional members to the board. He wants to add commissioners to specifically represent Delta Township, East Lansing and Meridian Township.

East Lansing is proposing a similar resolution.

Currently the eight members on the board are all appointed by the mayor of Lansing and the Lansing City Council.

Both East Lansing and Meridian Township plan to discuss the issue further at meetings this week.
