University Offers Free Job Training For Veterans

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- A local University wants to help give back to veterans and make that transition a little easier through a workshop called "Warrior to Worker".

The idea of the workshop is to get veterans back into the real world and show hiring managers that previous military experience translates well into the workplace.

Monday morning, Davenport University's Career Service and Military Support teams are offering a free resume workshop to local veterans, military personnel and their spouses.

While there career service representatives will help veterans update and even create a professional resume that will work in both the public and private industries. The free Warrior to Worker workshop will take place at Davenport Universities Lansing campus, from 9a.m. to 10:30a.m..

Those interested in attending are told to bring copies of their current resume, enlisted or officer reviews and any award narratives they may have.
