Engineering Weeks Kicks Off In Lansing

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - If you're thinking about a career in engineering you may want to participate in some special events this week at Michigan State University.

In honor of National Engineers Week the university is offering a variety of events, including how to dress for success as well as resume and interviewing tips.

MSU kicked off the event Sunday at Impression 5 Science Center in Lansing. Students from MSU were on hand to show kids what engineers can do.

Organizers hope the event sheds a positive light on a subject that many students tend to shy away from.

"I think it's really important to get kids motivated and into engineering and sciences. And show them that it is fun and it's not a scary field to go into," said Dana Alhasson, Student engineering Council, MSU.

Other fun events this week include a video game tournament and broomball games.

For a full list and times, visit MSU's Engineers Week website.
