Breakfast Raises Funds To Help Crime Stoppers Make Arrests

Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Law enforcement officials along with community leaders gathered at the Kellogg Center Tuesday morning for the Crime Stoppers of Michigan fundraising breakfast.

The annual event raises money to support the work of Crime Stoppers in helping to find criminals and prevent crime in mid-Michigan.

Organizers say those dollars can make a big difference in some investigations.

"Sometimes a few dollars will loosen up some tongues and we are able to get information anonymously so that our investigators can make arrests that they need to be made in some very significant cases," said Michael Thompson, President, Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan.

The featured speaker at the breakfast was FBI Special Agent Paul Abbate, who's in charge of the Detroit Field Office.
