Delta Dental Gives Out Dental Literacy Totes

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - February is National Children's Dental Health month and to get things going Delta Dental of Michigan got together to put together tote bags that promote dental health and literacy.

The idea is for lawmakers to distribute the literacy totes to elementary school classrooms in their home districts.

"We know that nationally 51 million school hours are lost due to poor oral health, so we're trying to educate children at a young age about the importance of brushing, flossing and maintaining good oral health," said Rick Lantz, Manager of Gov. Relations, Delta Dental of Michigan.

As of right now, about 900 tote bags have been ordered by 46 state legislators.
