College Students Can Postpone Jury Duty

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- College students don't need to worry about jury duty interrupting classes anymore after new legislation.

The Legislation signed into law by Governor Rick Snyder Tuesday allows full time college students to postpone jury duty until the end of the school year.

In a statement Governor Snyder says jury duty is "an important part of our civil responsibility". Snyder also recognizes it can be disruptive for a students' studies.

Similar exemption is already in place for high school students.
