DNR Says Aquatic Creatures May Not Survive Winter Weather

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Even though the weather is warming up, those who enjoy the wildlife in Michigan rivers, lakes and ponds in Michigan may see a sad consequence.

Officials at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources say it is likely that come this spring, you could se a lot of dead fish, turtles, frogs and other aquatic creatures because of the bitterly cold winter.

The Mich. DNR says the increased ice cover and heavy snow create conditions that threaten many creatures outside.
