MI Schools To See Redesign Changes

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)- The Education Achievement Authority will no longer have sole responsibility for helping schools that aren't making the grade.

State Superintendent Mike Flanagan notified the EAA of his decision on Wednesday. The lowest 5% of schools in the state are put into what's called a redesign plan to help get them back on track. This could include longer class days and instruction tailored to individual students.

Starting next year, the authority won't be the only agency in charge of the program.
