Governor Snyder Warns Michigan To Be Prepared For Severe Weather

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, MI (WLNS) - Governor Rick Snyder issued his warning Wednesday about the upcoming transition in weather conditions, saying "Michigan needs to be prepared and ready to act ahead of time."

"So this is a situation where we want to be precautionary particularly with respect to potential flooding challenges and other challenges related to, again, high winds and freezing temperatures again with a lot of water out there. So it's something we want to give people a heads up and make sure we're prepared, we're already taking a number of actions," said Governor Rick Snyder (r), Michigan.

Governor Snyder described this year as a tough one so far in terms of dangerous temperatures and heavy snowfall.

Now, there's the potential for flooding. Officials statewide will be monitoring rivers and crews will be cleaning storm drains along highways in preparation for melting snow today and rain tonight.
