Officials Battle Fire At Condemned Mobile Home Park

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)-  A home in the Life O'Riley Mobile Home Park caught fire the day after the Ingham County Health Department condemned the property.

Fire officials were on scene shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday and reportedly were able to put the fire out quickly.

The 6News photographer at the scene saw smoke, but no flames coming from one of the homes.

According to Ingham County Officials, the park has a long history of sewage system failures, and as a result, raw sewage and solid waste have become a public health concern on the property. They condemned the park Tuesday and gave residents nine days to evacuate.

The investigation of the fire is ongoing, and we hope to have more details soon.
