Winter Weather Advisory: Bitter Cold Temperatures, Drifting Snow

LANSING, MI (WLNS) - A Winter Weather Advisory goes is in effect until 3 p.m. today.

Snow combined with gusty winds will cause blowing snow.

Wednesday night wind chills ranged between 10 and 20 below. Up to 2 inches of snow is expected through midday Thursday.

The blowing snow will create hazardous driving conditions with near whiteouts possible.

Be sure to bundle up if you have to go out.

The advisory is for Clare, Isabella, Gratiot, Ionia, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Calhoun, and Jackson. This includes the cities of Clare, Mount Pleasant, Alma, Ionia, St. Johns, Charlotte, Lansing, Battle Creek and Jackson.

The Michigan Department of Transportation reminds motorists to adjust speeds based on the conditions and to take it slow in ice and snow.
