Thieves Stealing Money With New Card Cracking Scam

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, MI (WLNS) - Police want to warn you about a "card cracking" scam.

Officers say the scammers will ask to put a check in your bank account, which is stolen or counterfeit, claiming you'll get a cut.

They'll ask for your card number and pin, then steal your money.

Police say never give out your card or pin number. Do not deposit or cash a check for a friend.

They say if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
