Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - Dressing for the weather is critical during this winter season, but who says you can't have a little fun while doing it?

It may not be spring, but fashion professionals say there is plenty of room for spring colors in a winter wardrobe.

Professional Fashion Consultant and owner of Lena's Styles LLC says the key to winter fashion is knowing the trends. Here are just a few of her tips:

  • Layer - Layering is essential. It allows you to stay warm in the harsh winter. And you can have fun with it by using textures. (Check out the textured jacket from the video!)
  • Printed Scarves - Don't be afraid to add a scarf. Printed scarves can take your outfit to the next level. It's a fun accessory that can be a great conversation piece.
  • A Slimming Belt - Cinching the waist with a belt with make you slimmer.
  • Jewel Tone Necklace - It adds a splash of excitement to winter. When you pair the necklace with a pair of black slacks you can't go wrong.
