Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- It may be cold and snowy outside, but inside the Kellogg Center more than 250 people had spring on their minds during the 27th annual Michigan Wildflower Conference.

The two-day conference is part of Michigan State University's Agriculture and Natural Resources Week. It combines meetings, workshops and conferences that focus on the state's agriculture, horticulture and natural resources.

"We'd welcome people to join us. It's a wonderful group of people and a lot of good, positive energy, especially at this time of year. People look forward to talking about things that will happen in the spring and the coming seasons," said Esther Durnwald, a Wildflower Association of Michigan board member.

The Michigan Wildflower Conference continues Monday. For more information, including rates, visit the Wildflower Association of Michigan's website.
