Police Remain Tight-Lipped After PNC Robbery

Posted: Updated:

OKEMOS, Mich. (WLNS)- The search is coming to an end for the man who robbed a PNC bank in Okemos Monday afternoon and led officials into the woods.

The incident started just after 2 p.m. Monday when officials say the man robbed the bank, then took off on foot. He then got into a car and drove northbound on Marsh Road toward Saginaw Highway, then went east on I-69. The suspect then abandoned the car in the median of the interstate and ran into the woods!

Shortly after the man ran into the woods, neighbors say they heard gun shots.

The big question now is, do officials have the suspect in custody?

Towards the end of the struggle Monday afternoon, officials say they had the suspect pinned down in the wooded area and the scene was cleared shortly after.

After making multiple calls to Meridian Township, Shiawassee County and Bath Township officials Tuesday morning, that is all that is known. Officials are remaining tight-lipped on whether or not the suspect has been taken into custody.
