LANSING MICH. (WLNS) -

Police are trying to piece together a crime that left one man shot and 3 men in custody that spanned over a large part of South Lansing.

Police say they got a call around 4:35 on Friday that two vehicles were chasing and shooting at each other going Eastbound on Miller from Wise. Within minutes of that call, they also were told that there was someone found shot lying at a self-serve carwash at Kaynorth and Miller.

The victim is a 21 year-old Lansing man and was transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is listed in stable condition.

Lansing Police Detectives who were in the area of Miller and Kaynorth saw one of the suspects trying to flee the scene with his car. As detectives began following the vehicle, the driver reached out of the window and fired shots toward the detective's vehicle.

LPD officers tried to stop the accused vehicle in the area of Miller and Washington but the driver kept going. Police chased them down to the 2000 block of Georgetown where the suspect got out of the car and took off running. After chasing him on foot, the suspect was taken under arrest.

Officers also learned that there was other suspects that fled from the scene on foot from the car wash. LPD used their canine team to track down one of them in 5500 block of S. Cedar.

There was also lots of car crashes that happened because of the two vehicles chasing each other. There was some property damage but no injuries.

The suspects are expected to be formally charged tomorrow.
