Trial For Man Accused Of Driving Drunk, Killing Woman Continues

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - A Minnesota man charged with driving under the influence in a crash that killed a woman in Jackson County will see his trial continued in circuit court.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Colin Larson drove his truck while intoxicated and caused the crash that killed 53-year-old Kathy Kopulos in January.

The crash happened when Larson pulled out of the Parma Travel Center. Prosecutors say that Larson's blood alcohol content was below the legal limit.

Jackson County District Judge found probable cause that Larson's alcohol consumption impacted his driving ability.

Larson's lawyer says the woman who was killed reportedly had marijuana in her system and was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash.
