Mother, Son Sentenced In Dog Killing Case

Posted: Updated:

HILLSDALE, MI (WLNS) - A mother and her son were sentenced in a Hillsdale courtroom Monday after pleading guilty to charges of killing and torturing an animal.

Angela Spicer, 52, will spend six months behind bars while her 36-year-old son Donald Green will face one year in jail.

Both will face two years of probation and can never own any animals again.

The pair let a three-year-old pit bull freeze to death, possibly as a form of revenge against Green's ex-girlfriend who owned the dog.

Officials say Green admitted that the dog had not been fed for two weeks before it died.
