JACKSON, MI (WLNS) - Governor Snyder signed a bill Tuesday which honors a fallen officer by naming a bridge after him.

Officer James Bonneau was killed in the line of duty in March 2010. A man shot and killed Officer James Bonneau while he was out on a call.

It's because of Bonneau's actions that Officer Darin McIntosh, who was also shot that day, survived.

Officer Bonneau was with Jackson Police Department for 3 years.

The bridge is located in Jackson County on West Avenue, between Ganson St. and Wildwood Ave and will be named the Officer James Bonneau Memorial Bridge.
