Road Work To Begin On Jolly, Hagadorn, Lake Lansing Roads

Posted: Updated:

INGHAM COUNTY, MI (WLNS) - The warmer weather means Ingham County Road crews can start working to patch potholes throughout the county.

Managing Director Bill Conklin says they've got a lot of work ahead of them.

Roughly 30 percent of the county roads are in rough shape.

This spring the road commission plans to focus on Jolly Road, Hagadorn and Lake Lansing.

The road work might not have been done if the state legislature hadn't approved the more than $100 million mid-year spending bill.

The bill is to be put towards winter maintenance and pothole repair.

Conklin says he hopes Ingham County will receive about $800,000.

"That puts our winter maintenance budget back on track where it should be and restores our surface maintenance budget for the summer. So that we can do a more permanent repair and maintenance paving of these pothole ridden areas in the summer months," said Conklin.

According to Conklin, the money from the state is huge because of being in a budget calendar year.
