EAST LANSING, MICH. (WLNS) -

Nearly 300 people got into the Irish spirit on MSU's campus today for the 14th annual Shamrock Run-Walk-and-Roll 5k.

The event is put on by MSU's Tower Guard, a student organization whose members help other students who are visually impaired or have another reading-related impairment.

All the money raised at the race goes towards the MSU Resource for people with disabilities.

Organizers say the event takes a lot of work to put on, but it well worth the effort, to help those who need it.

Its really great to see that all this money will be going to such a great cause because like working with these kids that want to succeed, even though they have disabilities or things that make it harder," said Zac Walters, Run Chair for the Shamrock Run. "Its really great that we are able to help them out."

The Tower Guard is the oldest, active MSU-student based organization on campus.
