Cab Drivers Stay Busy During St. Patrick's Day Weekend

EAST LANSING, MICH. (WLNS) -

As bars and businesses prepare for the hustle and bustle St. Patrick's day, cab drivers as well will be busy driving lots of people around town.

One cab driver, who goes by "Jimbo Slice" is an independent contractor for Clarks Cabs, and this will be his third time working on St. Patrick's day, so he knows how things will go down in East Lansing.

"Its definitely not my first rodeo," said Slice. "Last year was really, really busy and I'm hoping this year its going to be the same."

As by the looks of it, things are shaping up to be just as hectic.

"We like to take a cab you know, safe route there," said Mike Hagan MSU alumni. "Not having to worry about drinking and driving."

If you are planning to rely on a cab Monday, Slice says to expect delays as the sun goes down.

"It definitely can get busy to the point of maybe an hour to an hour and a half wait for some people," said Slice.

And no matter what year his customers are in school, the Slice's phone keeps ringing for rides.

"Freshman, sophomore that go to these house parties as well as juniors and seniors that get tired of the bar and lines and stuff like that," said Slice

Although he adds that the money is good on holidays like St. Patrick's day, Slice adds that he's just in it for the ride.

"I just have fun with my customers, fun along the way, and keep the party rolling whether they are in my cab or not," said Slice.
