Police Reminding People To Celebrate Safe, Don't Drive Drunk

Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) - From Spartan green to St. Patrick's Day green celebrations have already started in East Lansing.

Between customers and cash, local bars and restaurants will be seeing plenty of green Monday.

St. Patrick's festivities began on Friday and went through the weekend, bringing in plenty of business.

Many businesses are expecting another big boost in sales Monday.

St. Patrick's Day typically one of the busiest days of the year for not only businesses, but law enforcement as well.

Lansing police want to make sure everyone is responsible and staying safe.

Officers suggest designating a sober driver before the party begins.

It's also a great idea to utilize public transportation, such as a taxi cab or CATA bus.

Do not allow your friends to drink and drive and if you see a drunk drive on the road, do not hesitate to call the police.

Additional officers will be on the roads Monday enforcing all traffic laws.
