The Jackson County dentist is in trouble with the law after police raided his office as part of a drug investigation.
A local and federal team served search warrants at the dentist's office and a home on Wednesday. They say it was part of a two month investigation into what was happening at the practice.
Investigators say they were looking into several counts of prescription fraud, delivery of controlled substances and insurance fraud. They also say the case involves large amounts of the prescription drug Vicodin.
The Jackson Narcotics Enforcement Team led the investigation, but got help from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, which has a special unit dedicated to the drug investigations in the medical profession.
The dentist, a 59-year-old man, was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail and the case will be turned over to the prosecutor's office.
The authorities won't release the his name until after the person is formally charged. They say that should happen some time on Friday afternoon.
