Frozen Pipes Still Cripple Jackson Homeowners

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MI (Joe Khalil) - Water is still not flowing for more than 100 families in Jackson and the city admits they're running out of options.

Some people haven't had water for nearly 60 days.

Mayor Jason Smith says Jackson has reached out for help from other cities but the severe winter weather has delayed that assistance.

According to city ordinances fixing the frozen pipes is the responsibility of the homeowners.

If the city takes over the repairs Smith says higher water rates may result.

Trucks have been supplying water to people who need the assistance.
