Homeless Outreach To Expand

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – After nearly being forced to shut its doors last winter for not having the proper permits, the Lansing City Outreach said it has plans to expand to help the area's homeless population.

Mark Bozzo, owner of the organization, said in addition to securing permits necessary to keep his Cedar St. location operating during the daytime hours, he's currently remodeling two units for overnight stay. "We have a house we're remodeling, and since our other side [of the daytime shelter] has been shut down, what we're doing is we're getting houses that we're putting people in," said Bozzo"

Bozzo added he's working with the city to make sure the right permits are in place, so he doesn't run into the same problems he faced late last year.
