Spartans, Wolverines Play In Sweet 16 Games Friday

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, MI (WLNS) - It's game day for both the Spartans and the Wolverines.

"That's the beautiful thing about it is that Michigan and Michigan State on the opposite side of the bracket can continue to be successful and then play in the National Championship game and I think that's the best possible outcome and who knows if Wisconsin makes it to the Final Four as well then you are going to see three out of four big ten schools and I think that would be a fantastic outcome," said Brian Calley, Michigan Lieutenant Governor.

To kick off the madness Friday, the maize and blue tip-off first when they face the University of Tennessee at 7:15 p.m.

WLNS-TV will air the Michigan vs. Tennessee game.

Then it's MSU's turn. They're in New York to play the top seed in the East Region, the University of Virginia. That game is scheduled for 9:57 p.m., or when the first game in New York ends.

The winner of those games will move on to the Elite 8.
