Lansing Students Get AP Credits Thanks To Emergent Biosolutions

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - A generous donation from a national pharmaceutical company will help advanced placement science students here in Lansing.

On Friday Emergent Biosolutions gave Lansing Sexton High School a more than $15,000 check to buy equipment and supplies for students in the AP Biology program.

Last year students didn't get their AP credits because the school didn't have the funds.

"Our goal in trying to meet our mission, which is to protect life, is to try to nurture that into, whether it's elementary school or high school students, to really to desire to want to learn about science and the practical application because that's what we try to do everyday," said Adam Havey, BioDefense Division President, Emergency Biosolutions.

Emergent Biosolutions is a long-time donor to the Lansing School District through the company's Give Corporate Social Responsibility program.
