Re-Trial Scheduled For Man Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MI (WLNS) - Open arguments have concluded and questioning is underway in the second trial for a Grand Ledge man.

Austin Smith is facing charges for his role in the beating death of a man in 2012.

The charges stem from the death of 30-year-old Travis Peterson.

Peterson was killed back in 2012, outside of a bar in Lansing.

Smith was charged with involuntary manslaughter and during his first trial last summer a jury spent two days deliberating, but could not reach a decision.
