Radio Station Hosts April Fool's Day Wedding Ceremony

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - It's an April Fool's Day prank unlike any other, but it wasn't actually a prank.

A Howell couple told their friends and family they were getting married live on radio.

On Tuesday morning WHMI 93.5 radio host Jon King officiated the wedding live over the airways.

The ceremony took place before friends, family members and thousands of radio listeners, who thought the whole thing was a joke, but it wasn't.

The theme of the wedding was Rock 'n' Roll and newly weds Tracey and John Lee even had their guests sign a guitar to end their perfect and unusual wedding.

"He really loves music. We love music. And I work here at the station. So I thought why not? It'd be fun! I wanted it to be unique. And the boys (Jon and Mike) said hey how about it and I said OK!" said Tracey Lee, April Fool's Day Bride.

After the wedding everyone headed to Dairy Queen for the reception. The couple plans to honey moon in Florida.
