LANSING, MI (WLNS) - A group of people who've made it their mission to get people off the streets and into a permanent home now have a place to call home themselves.
Members of the Homeless Angels, as they're called officially signed the lease Tuesday morning for the downtown Lansing location, just off Ottawa and Walnut Streets.
Founder Mike Karl says for now, they plan on using the space during normal business hours to hold appointments for the homeless in need of help.
And he hopes in the next couple of weeks they'll have their shelves stocked with food to give out as well.
"Sometimes the hardest part when you're homeless is you need someone standing by your side to walk you through the programs available to you, so we'll still be doing our walks, but now we'll have a central location where people can meet and help the homeless right here in our own town," said Mike Karl, Founder, Homeless Angels.
The office is just one block away from the Capitol.
