Man Arrested Following Multiple Drive-By Shootings

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A man is behind bars following two drive-by shootings on Lansing's south side.

Around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, Lansing police say a tan SUV and a blue Pontiac Aztek drove down the 3600 block of Karen Street, firing off shots a home. The bullets struck cars, but didn't hit people. Just two hours later, a silver Pontiac drove down Karen Street and fired another round of bullets at the same home.

Police say they recovered bullet shells from the scene and spent Saturday evening searching for the vehicles and suspects witnesses described seeing during the drive-by shootings.

Just after midnight Sunday, police say they found the blue Pontiac Aztek on the 1000 block of S. Cedar Street. They arrested the man inside the SUV. Police say the suspect is in his mid-20s and should face formal charges Sunday.

No one was injured in either drive-by shooting. Police say they're still searching for other people involved.
