KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WLNS)- Police are investigating a possible link between a body found over the weekend and a Kalamazoo doctor who vanished in December.
Indiana State Police say a body was spotted by a fisherman who reported that he saw something floating in Lake Charles on Sunday morning. This is the same lake that the FBI and Michigan State Police searched back in January for Dr. Teleka Patrick of Kalamazoo.
Divers helped to recover a female body dressed in dark clothing and officials say an autopsy will be conducted this week to identify the body.
Police say they did not find any evidence related to her disappearance at the lake but her car was found abandoned by an Indiana trooper on December 5th along I-94 near the lake.
Authorities say the autopsy will be performed Tuesday and the identity of the person will be confirmed by Wednesday. Patrick's family has been told by officials that the body could be their daughters.
