Declining graduation rates and increasing student loan debts are topics of concern in Washington.
(WLNS) - A fire has shutdown a portion of Michigan Ave. in Lansing.
It happened around 7:29 p.m. Monday in the 1800 block of E. Michigan Ave. Firefighters worked quickly and had the flames out by 7:35 p.m.
Officials say the fire broke out in the basement of a business.
The building has two active businesses, one empty business area and three residential apartments. Officials found two people in the apartments.
One person was taken to a hospital. There's no word yet on their condition.
The eastbound lanes of Michigan Ave. between Clemens and Marshall were closed while firefighters worked to put out the fire, but they reopened at 8:09 p.m.
